Two albums of TV music can be found at Your Pal Doug Just swapped out "Tops Hi-Fi" for "Tops Stereo" TV Themes, thanks to The Macs over at Hooked On Stereophonics. Hope you enjoy. Let me know here. Like, Doug
GREAT albums, Doug...your site is my first and last visit every day. I appreciate what you make available here, from your shares to the updated links to other blogs. You rock.
Ps - you have an extra forward / inserted in the address link for "Themes To Remember".
The most interesting thing about the "TV Themes" album, released in early 1959, is that, save for "Navy Log", "Perry Mason" (those themes were written by Fred Steiner), and "Peter Gunn" {Henry Mancini} virtually all of the themes are from various MCA/Revue programs ["CIMARRON CITY", by Stanley Wilson and Fred Herbert, was an hour-long western starring George Montgomery that appeared on NBC in the 1958-'59 season]. The themes for "Riff-Blues" ("MICKEY SPILLANE'S MIKE HAMMER", starring Darren McGavin, syndicated, 1957-'59) and "Toy Parade" ("LEAVE IT TO BEAVER") were composed by the same people- Dave Kahn and Melvyn Lenard Gordon {how opposite can you get?}.
The Richard Gleason is quite interesting. Tops is not a premium label in anyone's book (unless they're markedly eccentric) but this one sure give good value-good arrangements, very professional playing. Thanks, Doug!
Very useful site, Doug. I visit every day and get handy music tips. One thing- the Easy Music site is now only willing to post items for a payment! I don't think the site should be getting free publicity from here, do you?

These two albums are the greatest - and Stanley Wilson was the best...
